~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The seeds of our faith in Jesus Christ are sown in baptism and are first nurtured in the domestic church, the home.
Our parish operates a Catholic School.  At St. Mary's School, children from age 3 through Grade 8 learn about their faith in religion classes, through prayer and the sacraments, and by daily life in a Catholic community.  Second Grade, Ninth Grade, and Tenth Grade are special years for parish children and youth.  During those years, we prepare them for receiving sacraments.
We believe that the desire to know God and to grow in faith, hope, and love continues throughout life.  Adults are especially encouraged to participate in Faith Formation at St. Mary's.
Please read on for information about Faith Formation for adults, children, and youth at St. Mary's.
Generations of Faith
Generations of Faith is for all members of the parish, from Preschool (age 4) through Adult. Childcare is available free of charge for those under the age of 4.  GOF is the way our parish educates children and youth about the basics of their Catholic faith.  GOF also is designed for adults - to answer their questions about the Catholic faith, explain religious traditions, and help them grow in relationship with God.
GOF is once per month on Wednesday evening.  There are six events.  The dates for 2017-2018 are: September 20, October 11, November 15, January 10, February 21, and March 21.  Our subject this year is The Power of Prayer.
The evening events begin at 5:00 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m.  A delicious supper is served by the confirmation students from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and the program begins at 6:00.  A free will offering is collected for the meal.
If you are the parent of a child or teen, you are asked to come with them to Generations of Faith.  These are "family-style" events that include a group activity and then special learning sessions for children in Preschool-K (4/5 years) through the eighth grade.  Grade 9 to adults learn in a large group setting throughout the evening. There is Nursery care for children age 1 to 3 years.
There is a small admission fee plus a free-will offering for the meal.  All six events (a season ticket) is available for $30.  Individual events are $6 each.  Advance registration is not required, but is preferred for planning purposes. Registration forms now available here.
